You can enable this option with client installation settings. As of SEP 14, you can incorporate CleanWipe functionality directly into the Symantec Endpoint Protection client package.CleanWipe does not support command line use you must manually run CleanWipe.To remove NortonLifeLock software, see Download and run the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool. CleanWipe only removes Symantec software, such as Symantec Endpoint Protection.While CleanWipe can remove older installations of Symantec Endpoint Protection, you should not use an older version of CleanWipe to remove a newer version, as this action can have unexpected results. You should always use the latest version of the CleanWipe removal tool to uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection.You should only use CleanWipe as a last resort when the usual uninstallation methods are unsuccessful. Broadcom Support does not recommend using CleanWipe the first time you have uninstallation trouble.I suppose there are some unique cases where you would need the Terminal to execute a uninstaller script. If a warning appears about opening applications from the internet, click Open. Open the RemoveSymantecMacFiles folder, and double click on mand. After downloading the zip file, navigate to your downloads folder and double click on RemoveSymantecMacFiles.zip. If I want to uninstall it I bring up the AppCleaner app and drag /Applications/BBEdit to the AppCleaner window which will find the preference files for BBEdit to be removed. Another case, I have an app called BBEdit installed. In order for me to uninstall the Epson printer driver I would double-click with the mouse on /Applications/Epson Software/Uninstaller from Finder. For instance, I have installed a Epson printer driver which includes some Epson utility software. While others you would execute a specific uninstall script to uninstall them.
If you can't delete an app from Launchpad: the Delete button will only appear for apps that were downloaded from the App Store. Click the Delete button next to the app you want to delete, then click Delete to confirm.
Some apps you would drag them from /Applications folder to the trash to uninstall them. Press and hold the Option () key, or click and hold any app until the apps start jiggling. The uninstall script would be unique to each app that has one. Remove legacy Symantec AntiVirus (SAV) for Mac installations before installing Symantec Endpoint Protection. As chrfr has pointed twice now there is no uninstall command in macOS.
